ESRAH2026
お知らせ
Since 2008, an annual exchange meeting has been held between Hokkaido University and Hirosaki University, providing a valuable opportunity to discuss the effects of radiation on human health. This meeting has served as a platform for graduate students and young scientists to enhance their knowledge and skills in the fields of radiological sciences, radiation protection, radiation physics and biology, environmental health, radiotherapy, and related disciplines.
The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, which occurred on March 11, 2011, following the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami, further highlighted the importance of understanding the effects of radiation on the environment and human health, particularly in relation to low-dose exposure. To promote broader discussion and learning in this field, the meeting was expanded in 2014 into an international symposium entitled “The Educational Symposium on Radiation and Health (ESRAH) by Young Scientists.”
ESRAH provides participants with opportunities to acquire knowledge, share research findings, and engage in scientific discussions on radiation and health through educational lectures and presentations by young scientists and students. The symposium also aims to foster interdisciplinary exchange among researchers and students working in diverse areas of radiation sciences.
This year, the 13th ESRAH will be held from September 18 to 19, 2026, in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. The theme of ESRAH2026 is “Advancing the Future of Radiation Sciences through Environmental and Medical Perspectives.” Under this theme, the symposium will focus on radiation sciences and health from environmental, medical, and related perspectives, including radiation emergency medicine, radiation protection, dosimetry, radiation biology, radiation physics, radiotherapy, and other related fields.
We hope that ESRAH2026 will provide a meaningful opportunity for young researchers and students to deepen their understanding of radiation and health, develop new perspectives, and build connections across disciplines. We cordially look forward to your participation in ESRAH2026.
